Articlu for Webflow
Articlu writes, checks and publishes blog articles into a Webflow CMS collection on your site. This page explains how to install it, set it up, use it and remove it. Questions? Email support@articlu.com.
What you need
- An Articlu account (sign up or sign in). Connecting a website needs a paid plan or the one-time free plan.
- A Webflow site with a CMS collection for your blog posts. Required fields: a name (title), a slug and a rich text field for the article. Optional fields: summary, main image, thumbnail, publish date, search title and search description.
1. Install and connect
- Sign in to Articlu and open Integrations, then press Connect Webflow. (From the Webflow Marketplace, the Install button takes you to www.articlu.com/connect/webflow, which starts the same step.)
- Webflow asks you to approve Articlu and to choose the site. You can press Cancel to decline: nothing is connected.
- Back in Articlu, choose the collection that holds your blog posts.
- Check the field list: Articlu guesses which Webflow field holds each part of an article (title, address, text, summary, images, date, search title and description). Change anything that is wrong, then press Connect Webflow.
No one-click button? Make a site token in Webflow (Site settings, Apps & integrations, API access, Generate API token) with CMS: Read and write and Sites: Read and write, then paste it in Articlu. The token is stored encrypted and never shown again.
2. Get the site ready
- Publish the site once. Webflow does not show new articles on a site that was never published. If yours was never published, Articlu publishes it once for you (this is why it asks for the Sites write permission). Otherwise the article is saved as a Webflow draft with a plain note.
- Make the article look finished (optional). In Integrations press Article style on the site card, copy the style, and paste it in Webflow under Site settings, Custom code, Head code. Publish the site again.
- Tables and videos stay inside the article text, in the same place. Choose a separate field only if your page design shows them somewhere else.
3. Use it
- Open Generate Articles, type a topic (for example healthy breakfast ideas) and press Enter. The article is written, checked and published to your collection. Add a time to schedule it: healthy breakfast ideas tomorrow 9am. Times follow the time zone of your Articlu account.
- Review first: on the site card set Publishing to review. Articles then wait as drafts until you approve them.
- All Articles lists what was published. Send to publishes a copy on any other connected website. Editing a published article updates the same item in place, with the same address.
- Test connection on the site card creates and removes a hidden draft to check that publishing works. Change fields reopens the field list.
What Articlu asks Webflow for
- Sites, read: list your sites so you can choose one.
- CMS, read: list your collections and their fields, and read the state of an article it published.
- CMS, write: create, update, publish and delete the articles Articlu publishes in the collection you chose.
- Sites, write: publish a never-published site, once, so the first article can go live.
Articlu does not read or change your pages, forms, members or shop. See the Webflow data section of the Privacy Policy.
Disconnect or uninstall
- In Articlu, press Remove on the site card. The stored token is deleted and, for a one-click connection, the access is revoked at Webflow. Your articles stay in Articlu and on your site.
- If you uninstall Articlu in Webflow instead, publishing stops at once and the card shows Reconnect needed. Remove the site in Articlu (or email us) to delete the stored token.
Troubleshooting
- The article is saved as a draft: publish the site once in Webflow, then press Publish again.
- Reconnect needed: the access was removed in Webflow. Press Reconnect on the site card.
- Wrong field: press Change fields and pick the right one.
- More answers are in the Help page, or email support@articlu.com.
