1. Overview
Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase if 20% or less of the credits from that purchase have been used. Credits pay for real work (articles written, images made, audits run), so a refund is for someone who tried Articlu and it was not right for them, not for someone who has already used it.
Our payments are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, so approved refunds are issued by Paddle on our behalf to your original payment method.
2. Try it free first
Every new account can try Articlu free before paying: the one-time free plan includes real articles, so you can judge the quality before you buy. Because the trial exists, the money-back guarantee is not meant for people who use up their credits: it protects you if, having tried the service, a paid plan still turns out not to fit.
3. When a refund is available
All of these must be true for the charge you ask about:
- You ask within 14 days of the charge (a new subscription, a renewal, an upgrade or a credit pack).
- 20% or less of the credits that the charge gave have been used. Credits given back when an action fails or is cancelled do not count as used.
- It is the first refund for you (one refund per person: the same email or the same website never gets a second one).
- The account has not broken our Terms.
Usage is measured when you send the request. From that moment your credits are paused so nothing can be used while we look at it. If the request is not eligible we tell you why straight away and your credits are released.
Always refunded in full, whatever the usage: duplicate or mistaken charges once confirmed, and charges for a period where the service was unavailable or unusable through our fault (in full or pro rata, at our reasonable discretion).
4. When a refund is not available
- More than 20% of the credits from the charge have been used. The credits were spent on work that has already been delivered, and the usage record in your account shows exactly what was used and when.
- Requests made more than 14 days after the charge, except duplicate charges, service failure and where the law requires otherwise.
- A second refund for the same person, email or website.
- Accounts closed for serious breach of our Terms, such as spam, illegal content, abuse of the service, or using credits and then asking for a refund in order to get the service for free.
- Partial refunds for unused time or credits after the window, or for months or articles you did not use.
- Third-party costs outside our control, such as your hosting, domain or platform fees.
This policy does not limit rights you have under the consumer law of your country, including any statutory cooling-off or withdrawal period.
5. How to request a refund
Email support@articlu.com from the address on your account with the subject "Refund request". Please include your account email and, if you have it, the Paddle order or invoice number. You can also ask Paddle directly through the link in your receipt or at paddle.net.
A person decides within 2 business days. We look at your usage record, the date of the charge and whether a refund was given before. If your request does not meet the policy we will explain which part and point you to the record.
6. Timing and method
Approved refunds are sent by Paddle to the original payment method. Banks and card issuers usually show the refund within 5 to 10 business days, but some can take longer. The refund covers the amount you paid including the tax charged on it.
When a refund is issued, the related subscription is cancelled and access to paid features ends immediately, or at the end of the period if you ask us to cancel without refunding.
7. Cancelling without a refund
You can cancel at any time in your account or by emailing us. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the billing period you have paid for. Cancel before the renewal date to avoid being charged again. Yearly plans renew once a year and you will be charged the then-current price.
8. Chargebacks and disputes
Please contact us before opening a dispute with your bank; we can usually fix the problem faster. Disputed charges are handled by Paddle, and we may suspend access while a dispute is open. A chargeback made after the credits were used is treated as a refund request outside this policy: the account is closed and the usage record is sent to our payment provider as evidence.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy the new terms apply only to charges made after the effective date shown above.
